Community Tending
We sow the seeds of collective action by nourishing relationships to each other and land.
Community Tending is LA Más’ cornerstone program, where we reconnect with the people and places in our neighborhoods. Often residents’ first entry to LA Más, this program is where we grow our solidarity ecosystem (our membership network that centers working-class communities of color and invites allies to support). Through capacity building, popular education, and gatherings that center culture and wellness, LA Más supports residents to deepen their connections with nature and each other and gain tools to take collective action in LA Más’ other program areas.

Intentional outdoor gatherings with neighbors to learn to be better stewards to the earth and each other.
-
Political education, healing circles, and wellness practices to understand and navigate unjust systems.
-
Cultural storytelling and celebrations to center community wisdom and create spaces of joy and healing.
-
Seasonal cohort of community members learning leadership, facilitation and advocacy skills.
