Resident Leadership

We cultivate opportunities for residents to shape and lead neighborhood-scale initiatives as volunteers, food hub leaders, advisors, and language leads.

LA Más believes in recognizing and uplifting our community’s agency and inherent power. We honor our community by building authentic and trusted relationships that support community leadership and collective decision-making. Working toward our vision of collective power and ownership, community members not only provide input but drive decisions behind our work.

Volunteers

All of our programs, workshops and events are supported by volunteers who are connected to Northeast LA and promote a sense of community. Everyone is welcome to join our ongoing volunteer activities, please email us at community@mas.la

Food Hub Leaders

Community leaders who are interested in expanding food access pick up produce from the Northeast LA Mercadito every Friday. Some provide at-home deliveries to neighbors with mobility challenges, and others set up hyperlocal hubs.

Language Leads

Community leaders who have multiple language capacities help us connect with neighbors in Cantonese, English ASL, Khmer, Spanish, Tagalog and Vietnamese.

Resident Advisors

Community leaders who are interested in helping shape programming support LA Más staff by defining outreach strategies and setting collective priorities.

If you would like to learn more about leadership opportunities, please contact Alex at alexandra@mas.la or call (818) 641-5266.
